Professor Quatrain’s announcement that he has created a perpetual motion machine has stunned the scientific community.
Many believe it is hoax, but when Quatrain announces that he will unveil his machine—the Metronome—at a science expo in Paris—the world waits in anticipation to see if it is true, and intrepid American journalist Rosalyn Thorne is among their number.
But there are others who don’t want Quatrain’s discovery to become public. Industrialists and market barons fears the engine will make coal obsolete and ruin them financially, while a shadowy secret society known as the Hand wants to harness the power of the machine to build a weapon with which to rule the world.
Set near the turn of the 20th century, the series spans the globe, from Victorian England to darkest Africa, from the Wild West to the Far East, from the Arctic Circle to the remote jungles of the Amazon…there’s nowhere our intrepid heroes won’t go in search of adventure…
